Fellow Application

2019 Application Process

We are not accepting Fellow applications at this time. Our Kuehn Fellowship runs on a two-year cycle. From fall, 2018 through spring, 2019, KCF will run the process for selecting the 2019 host and Fellow cohort. If you are interested in applying to be a Fellow, please return to this website frequently as it will have the most up-to-date information. All important deadlines and guidelines will be listed here.

General Information

Kuehn Fellows are recent Master’s degree level graduates (graduating within last five years) from a variety of backgrounds (business, urban planning, policy, design, architecture, etc.) and a particular interest in affordable housing as a career path. Fellowships are practice-based jobs in community development, not research internships.

The vetting process for Fellows includes a written application, submission of a written work product, an interview and contact with references. Selected hosts and Fellows will meet each other at a half-day interview process (Matching Event) held in downtown Boston in spring, 2019. Attendance will be mandatory for chosen Fellows and hosts. The Foundation covers the cost of travel for Fellows who are not in the Boston area. Following the Matching Event, hosts and Fellows will be polled for their respective top choices and will be matched by KCF.
