About

Kuehn Charitable Foundation

HISTORY. Robert H. (Bob) Kuehn, Jr. created the Kuehn Charitable Foundation (KCF) to support three interests threaded through his thirty-five year career as a real estate developer: affordable housing, historic preservation, and open space. Upon his death in 2006, the majority of his estate passed to KCF which continues to carry out his legacy. More about Bob Kuehn.

FELLOWSHIP. KCF’s major program is the Kuehn Fellowship, a two-year fellowship pairing vetted Boston-area nonprofits with Fellows eager to address and gain real-world experience in one of our region’s most pressing challenges—affordable housing. The next cycle of Fellows will be chosen in 2025.

GRANT MAKING. KCF additionally contributes directly to organizations and initiatives in our three fields of focus.  We fund in response to invited proposals only.  We appreciate your not contacting us regarding grant making.

PLANNING GRANTS. The Foundation is pleased to support early stage funding for project feasibility through our Kuehn Planning Grants.  All grant making occurs via the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC).  Those interested may learn more at https://cedac.org/housing/affordable-housing/ and by contacting CEDAC directly.
